Drs. Shaloo Rakheja and Yicong Dong of the University of Illinois presented a curriculum development workshop.
The workshop introduces faculty to curriculum development of a course on the modeling and simulation of RF devices, situating it within the broader push to prepare students for the next generation of wireless technologies. The instructors discuss the design and implementation of the curriculum and share lessons learned from teaching it. Core topics include RF devices and circuit design, covering III-V semiconductor devices, HEMTs, and RF power amplifier applications; device modeling and simulation, covering device physics, Verilog-A modeling, and TCAD-based simulation; and device-circuit co-design, covering virtual prototyping, RF performance analysis, and physics-based device-circuit integration.
