Curriculum Development Workshop: 5G/6G Wireless Communication

Professor Tongtong Li and graduate student Jaxson Hancock of Michigan State University presented to an audience of faculty members during a train-the-trainer workshop.

The workshop introduces faculty to the curriculum development of a 5G/6G wireless communication and networking course, situating it within the broader push to prepare students for the next generation of wireless technologies. The instructors discuss the design and implementation of the curriculum and share lessons learned from teaching it. Core topics include communications and system design, from theory to end-to-end system design; networks, security, and massive MIMO, covering advanced wireless networks, optimization, and secure, energy-efficient systems; and 5G NTN and satellite communications, covering non-terrestrial networks and integrated terrestrial-satellite solutions.
