Artificial Intelligence Hardware Module for ASIC Design Course
ECE 337 serves as an introduction to standard cell design of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) using modern hardware description languages (HDLs). It places emphasis on how to write HDL code that will map readily to hardware. Laboratory experiments using commercial grade computer-aided design (CAD) tools for HDL based design, logic simulation, automatic placement and routing, timing analysis and verification.
ECE 337 is modifying two curriculum modules to engage students with artificial intelligence (AI) hardware concepts and design. The first module serves as an introduction to AI both and AI hardware. The second module focuses on the design of AI hardware, including studying and implementing the architectures of modern systems used in the AI hardware space.
